Maia and the Squires  is an alternative rock band based in Berlin, formed in 2024.

The band features Phan Anh (Hanoi, Vietnam) and Ulysse Zimmer (Vaux, France) on guitar, Merlin Ricco Laudien (Buxtehude, Germany) on drums, PAULA FOT (GDYNIA, POLAND) and Maia Luker (Buenos Aires, Argentina) on vocals and guitar. Their sound is a mix between dreamy and abrasive, soft and heavy. Inspired by shoegaze, 90s alternative rock, grunge, and indie, their main references are My Bloody Valentine, Mitski, Wolf Alice, Radiohead, Warpaint, Smashing Pumpkins, Betcover!!, and The Cranberries.

With a growing presence in the alternative music scene, Maia and the Squires continue to play live every month, bringing a refreshing sound to berlin.

The band released their debut EP, “Sinking Into The Ocean”, in May 2026, with more singles set to follow.
